Cidney DoBrodt, a 5'7" guard from the Mishawaka Christian Athletic Club, has committed to continue her basketball and academic careers for the 2013-2014 season at Bethel College (NAIA) in Mishawaka, IN.

Cidney averaged 13.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 3.3 steals per game during her senior year. She was named to the All-American teams for the National Christian School Athletic Association (NCSAA) and National Christian Homeschool Basketball Championship (NCHBC) during her career. Cidney was also named as an Indiana Christian Basketball Alliance (ICBA) All-Star her senior year. She was named MVP for the South Shore Christian Conference in 2011 and 2012. She made numerous All-Tournament teams throughout her career. Cidney finished her career scoring over 2,000 points and had over 1,000 rebounds.

"Cidney is an outstanding young lady who has great court sense, nice set shot, and who works hard," stated Coach Martinez. "She runs the floor well and is a great team player. She is coming from a successful basketball program at MCAC. I have known Cidney and her family for a long time and I am excited for her to be coming to Bethel College and be a member of the Lady Pilot Family."

"I have grown up around Bethel and I didn't realize it at the time but it was growing on me!" noted Cidney. "I did a few sport camps at Bethel and that's when the basketball program started to grow on me too. The coaching staff is amazing and are so welcoming! I love how passionate Coach Martinez is. He doesn't let his girls settle for anything less than their best on and off the court. During my junior year, I took a few REACH classes at Bethel and that's when I knew it was the place for me. I am excited to continue playing basketball, and being challenged on and off the court.  Between the coaching staff, the Christian atmosphere on campus, the genuine care the professors have for students, and getting the opportunity to continue playing the game I love; I have found that Bethel College is the place for me."

"I've been blessed to not only be Cidney's coach but also her dad," said Randy DoBrodt. "I have coached Cidney for over 11 years and her dedication to detail, and determination to go that extra mile has proven anything is possible if you want it bad enough. Some people have to work really hard to attain the natural court awareness that Cidney has and it has been a privilege watching Cidney develop her leadership skills not only in basketball but in her walk with Christ as well. Cidney has a strong work ethic when it comes to sports, school and her music. She doesn't settle for anything less than her best. Cidney has been the cornerstone of the MCAC program thru basketball, volleyball, and the hours of community service. Myself, as well as the Wildcat family, cannot wait to see what God has in store for Cidney at the collegiate level."
